Daniel was born in Chester, Cheshire, England, where his father was a Merchant Seaman but turned to a Steal Erector then actually become a Landlord of Ring O Bells and his mother was a Art Teacher, unfortunately Daniel's parents split up in 1972 and Daniel then went to live with his older sister Lea but his parents splitting up didn't stop Daniel from finding fame. His interest in acting was encouraged by visits to Liverpool everyman theatre which his mother set up. From the age of 6 Daniel began acting in school plays and enjoyed it very much by playing the lead role in Oliver. At the age of 14 he played roles such as Oliver, Romeo and Juliet and Cinderella. At 16 Daniel left school and went to an audition at the National Youth Theatre's and he was accepted and moved down to London. Daniel studied alongside Ewan McGregor and Alistair McGowan then later among others. He graduated in 1991 after a three year course. From 1992 to 1994 he was married to Scottish actress Fiona Loudon and also has a daughter with Fiona called Ella Craig she was born in 1992. He took over the part of James Bond after Pierce Brosnan. He's a fan of Liverpool. He quite smoking before making the film Casino Royle. Lives in London, England.
